In the initial design tax code on the register was added to a global tax code screen. At that time, it did not consider the limitation that the tax code could differ by store. So on one store one register, this tax code configuration was meant to be different versus another one. There used to be a Tax Number field on Tax Code screen, which was removed from that screen. So we no longer need Tax Code and we have to obsolete the tax code field from Tax Totals tab of Store screen.
Due to existence of this field implementation team is facing issues as they have to setup GLs for the sales tax item as well as on the tax code screen and tax code screen does not allow for changing the Sales Tax Account for different account category.
