1. Make sure to enable "Save Grid and Pivot Grid Layout" on Dashboard Option from Company Preferences screen from admin folder.
2. Look for a grid panel whose Rows Visible <> 0.
3. Go to column headers and select Group by this field. Records are grouped.

5. Double click Home button to reload dashboard.

Should load the dashboard default tab and should save the grouping on the panel records.
