[HDTN-175701 - Would like cursor to start in Post Date when you click New in General Journal|http://fb.irely.com/iRelyi21/i21/#/HD/Ticket/?ticket=HDTN-175701]
* The cursor should start in Post Date field when you click New in General Journal screen.
* The date should be highlighted so you can easily change
* You are most likely not doing an entry on the day you enter the transaction - gl is a retrospective module
* Users are normally working on a prior date when dealing with general journals and is having to click into the post date box.
* This would save keystrokes in the General Journal.
Expected Behavior:
* When you hit new the cursor should default to the end date of the last open period
* it should have the post date field selected so that you could easily overwrite the post date if you want to
For Example
|Current Date|First Open period
( from the fiscal periods menu)|Date to assign|Comments|
|1/1/2015|12/31/2014|12/31/2014|Since the period is not closed you are most likely entering into an old period|
|12/15/2014|12/31/2014|12/15/2014|if you are in the period you would want to track the actual date the transaction ocurred|
|6/30/2016|12/31/2015|12/31/2015|even if 6 months has gone by you should still enter transactions in the last unclosed period|
|6/30/2016|5/30/2016|5/30/2016|Since your open period is last month - that is where you would problably make a journal entry.|
