We would like to simplify account types as much as possible and Cost of Goods Sold is a type of expense and Sales is a type of Revenue. Types are used to drive how an account is closed at year end. There is no difference between a Sales and Revenue account type so we should remove the Sales account type - The same logic applies to Cost of Goods Sold and Expense.
