Account Categories should be the only field that is used to restrict filtering of accounts.
I have created cases in each module for this - if you see an issue please advise the module owner

Please create cases for any specific areas you see it as a problem
One example of this is:
(happens in 15.1) Company Location - GL Accounts tab > Cost of Goods field.
Because it checks for Account Group that is under Cost of Goods Sold. And since the Account Group is not under Cost of Goods Sold, however under the Sub group of Cost of Goods Sold, it did not show the account in the Cost of Goods field. Now if we ignore the Account Group validation and have only to validate for Account Category, it is a lot simpler and less prone for error.
