When you enter a date in vendor pricing the date defaults to the day prior - this I believe has to do with server timezone and client side time zone.
I think it is saving the date as utc and subtracting the server time to get it to utc.
Jeff and darwin have information on this isue - it was addressed wtih respect ot GL Reporting.
